Linn of Avon Holiday Cottages is a small family run business in which the whole family has their own unique role.
About the Cottages
The cottages were built during 2016 / 2017 on the site of an old store. We constructed the cottages to give an authentic feel externally using traditional materials, retaining a section of the store walls and the stone to incorporate them into the garden walls thus maintaining a part of the past.
Internally the cottages have been designed with a modern contemporary look. The living room, dining room and kitchen are open plan to create a lovely light and airy sociable space.
To ensure the cottages meet our guest’s expectation an up to date entertainment system is available. You can also be assured that, although the cottages are in the heart of the Highland National Park, a fibre broadband service is available within the cottages should you feel the need to reconnect to the outside world.
About the Beautiful Village of Tomintoul
Tomintoul was founded by the Duke of Gordon in 1776. It is situated in the Scottish National Park and lies on the line of the Old Military Road built following the Jacobite rebellion. Located in the village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highland, the cottages are ideally positioned in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Guests will love exploring this peaceful area full of scenic variety with a treasure trove of natural wonders for all to enjoy.
This Picturesque village is a fantastic destination for those who like to walk, climb, cycle, fish or ski and much more. The village is nestled by the landscape with rivers on either side, forests and wildlife. For whisky lovers why not visit the renowned Whisky Castle, with its offering of over 500 single malts, within the village or visit one of the many local distilleries. If you love history, then you will be spoilt for choice with numerous ruins and castles on your doorstep. A short drive away guests can also enjoy the beautiful Moray coast which is famous for its tranquil beautiful sandy beaches.
We believe that our beautiful village is a very special place. For this reason, it is our aim to keep it in its natural splendour, the way mother nature intended, as much as possible.
We are committed to our responsibility of looking after the area and environment and encourage our guests to respect their surrounding when staying in our cottages.
Highlighting our commitment to the environment and your stay, we have ensured the cottages are well insulated with high quality windows and doors. LED lighting is employed throughout along with appliances with a minimum A+ rating. We choose to heat the houses via an air source heat pump linked to underfloor heating on the ground floor, ensuring your stay is warm and comfortable no matter what time of year you choose to visit.
